Badr hari made a mistake, like you I am
disappointed.but please stop talking about him as if he had killed his opponent.
His behavior is not excusable. badr hari has an incredible talent and he has already regretted the gesture.
Please remember his moments that give us badr hari by his incredible talent
Badr hari is young, he has a lot to learn.
If he were 30 years have managed to grasp
Thanks you.

Indeed Rob nicely put and i fully agree with you,.
He gave so much for the fighting world which there
are people who dont like to see neither admit. He
must only learn to be wiser and to keep control
which i hope he will do!! He has by far the largest
fanbase among K.1 and it s Showtime fighters which
is still growing. i hope he will be back still this
year, and i hope he gets back in mental shape as he
was last year.

Hey another Rob! :PTo answer your question.. I think he is one of the best fighters ever. He is talented, strong and good gamestrategies.
But some of his actions has made me lose respect for him as a fighter. Very unfortunate, but true. The reason I like fighters like Aerts and Hug is because of their fighting spirit inside the ring and their friendly behaviour outside of it.

Wow, now we have two Robs :)What do I have against Badr Hari? I dont like his arrogance and I dont like his lack of respect. There is an old saying: if you want to have respect you got to give respect. Im sorry but I cant like the man who behaves like he does. He is super talented and he is excellent fighter, but there are more important things in life than being good at what you do. He gave a lot to this sport (my sport), but he also took a lot from it.
And so what if he is still young? Other talented fighters (Aerts, Hoost, JLB, Sefo, Schilt) were young too and non of them never did anything even close to what he did twice. Some fighters are still young, and even younger than him (Zimmerman, Spong), and do we see anything similar from them? No. Youth doesnt have to do anything with his behaviour. I dont know what does, and to be honest I really dont care. All I know is that no one should idolize this man. He is not a good role model

I think he disgraces anyone who enters the ring. As
a so called professional he should act like one in
and out of the ring.He has a history of poor decisions. Maybe he needs to retire until he learns to act more like a pro. If a fighter does something wrong once it is an error. Two times or more it is unacceptable.
Standup kickboxing is having enough problems getting the average sports fan to watch without having a guy get disqualified in the main event twice in less than two years.
Fans pay good money to watch fights and should see PROFESSIONAL fighters act like PROFESSIONALS.

stark : Firstly I idolizes not badr hari.I am a fan and I remain a fan of him because I pass over all that.
Secondly each has its character, badr hari is aggressive and provocative, but only when it is a battle.
Outside the fighters (eg Karaev) say it is a very nice boy.
I went to amsterdam arena, I pay to see him and I do not regret
he still has much to learn and like me when it will recover in the ring you will all be anxious to see his fights.
Thank you

There is a saying that goes ,,hate the sin not the
sinner,, . Even though i basically disagrees with
this statement, because I believe every person is
reponsible for choosing their actions and
behaviour, it can be useful for separating person
and issue. So what do I have against Badrs
behaviour? - 1, the misdirected aggression. I believe anger should have a purpose or a good reason, rigthous anger can be a very powerful, positive thing, but when someone lashes out at everything like a force of nature, not distinguishing between right or wrong, then it is just meaningless. In this circumstance he is like a rebel without a cause, making trouble for all the rebels with causes.
- 2, the tendency to put the blame for your own mistakes on others. It is just making up excuses. It is a path that leads nowhere. Go through your life blaming the bad things that happen on other people or circumstances and you will never find happiness. Know yourself as the oracle says.
- 3, linking might with right. Just beacuse you can doesn`t mean you should. When someone is so caught up with their own hype that they believe they are the best no matter what, then we are somewhat confusing SKILLS (hari has tons of that) with status (being the best does not make you champion unless you play by the rules) This kind of arrogance is unhealthy in a proffesional athlete. You need confidence, yes, that is good, but not grand illusions of your own importance.
These are the things that bother me most, It goes without saying that you shouldn,t talk trash to other people, or put your nose up their faces, or punch them during press conferences, or destroy your wardrobe, or diminish others victories by saying they played it safe, too defensive or whatever. Man, it adds up to a lot when you put everything in a row....

beautifully written Bárd and yes you are right on
many points, uncontrolled anger leads to nowhere
and when the line between reality and acting is
diminishing we cant help but wonder. I think that s
why he was always the one, about who most has been
talking about. Good or bad , so far for whichever
show or tournament he goes for sure it will bring
by far the best income for the promoters. Badr Hari
has grown out the status of being a fighter or a
sportsman , he is a star and a phenomenon with all
it s bright and dark sides. Thats why there is
always something to talk about when he comes in the
picture. You can well say that then he should
rather belong to the tabloids of the newspapers
instead and you were not far from reality in many
ways. The only thing is his incredible talent in
fighting and also in making himself known, and this
way to sell himself the best. i know talent is not
enough, and i do not want to see him in any even
worse situation than in which he has already been.
I doubt if his career would survive one more of
this faux pas. But let us see what will happen
next. this guy like a wind, you can never know what
he brings, cold or warm, good or bad, but he is the
one who is the most talented, the luckiest, the
most popular and in the same time the most unlucky,
crazy, silly fighter in the K-1 /it s Showtime
rings-i just pray nothing worse will happen either
to him or one of his opponents....and i say that as
a fan of his, wishing him always the best

@Rob He made one of
the biggest mistakes. And later he did it again.
He is agressive, lacks respect and is an insult to the sport.
Being a good fighter is not enough.
But I dont expect his die-hard fans to realize that.
You guys just want to see blood.

oh Ronnie such a nice guy you are !! and yes, if it
will really never ever happen as there is
absolutely no guarantee for that anymore then
people might forgive and forget, but now many, who
stiil on the side of the true fighting with rules
and with the good sportsman behavious will turn
their back on Badr as they already did. I hope he
will not do this again because he can be the best.
Only problem of his as Torazulu puts that way in
his article is that he is aware of his importance
which might lead to arrogant behavious and
continuous overestimating of importance in which
case it s true. He is a young guy he could still
give so much for fighting world. I believe if he
will fight in Final 16 he knows he will need to
behave perfect really perfect to stay famous and
accepted in Japan. I hope the best for him of
course, i m a fan of his, but i hope he stays in
control in the future.

Mongoose Yes man , as your dear old ex

you are right of course all who say that his
behaviour doesnt make him a professional fighter. I
believe if he wasnt Badr then he would be out from
2008 but it s him, he is a great talented fighter,
a star , a hope of a whole nationality, and another
(Turkey) he has become the epithom for many young
fighters that they can reach the top if they train
hard. And if he wants to destroy this image of his,
for this not even 2 mistakes is enough and it s
good at a point bad on another. I know many will
not like him anymore from this second mistake. And
the others will turn their back on him if and when
we will do it the third time. Will there be third
time? to be honest i think there will be. THat will
be the time when he wil be closed up in jail. This
can all happen if he acts out of anger if he doesnt
grow up ,if he doesnt control. I think the third
time will ultimately mean the end of his career. I
hope he is wise enough never to make this step.

yes Mongoose i know what you mean, but sometimes
people can excuse easier than they think they would
.. he is a charismatic guy is not easy to turn your
back against him if you had been his fan before...
never an easy step. We can just hope for him after
all. And no, the chances are not neverending
though.

in my opinion the thing is, that what this sport
needs is to be a sportsman on the first place than
a fighter in the second place. Badr has it mixed
up, he is a fighter on the first place and
sportsman in the second place. when i watched that interview where also his father took place i was surprised and a bit scared too, because there i saw his enegry like how much force he put into making Badr the best, and that for him ho achievement was good enough, he wants him to be the best- When is the parent putting on this pressure is even harder to bare..is no excuse of course only some analysing. I wonder what will happen in September in Final 16

@szanpan what you just said I think would
make a good discussion in another article, it is
about being sportsman in fighting. Can a human be
equally sportsman in fight sport as in other
non-fight sport disciplines.

2. Hari who is eager to fight, explosive fighter but less disciplined?

@BukiLand Imagine the Saki

the well known by his uncontrollable ego gonna be
forgiven. a lots of people consider him the best,
and believe that he suffers in silence for his acts

exceptional.

@Mitko J. Maybe even Horatio Caine

@szanpan C´mon! He didnt have the title,
so how can it be taken away from him?He had to win the fight to have the title. Maybe he could have won, but he did NOT win, so ...
Now the Hari-fan(atic)s are gonna say that he already won that title, and that the title was taken away from him by sanction??? Please .... this is going too far.
szanpan (2085 posts)
Posted: 2010-06-07 at: 08:50
@D-rop i think there is some misunderstanding over
here now.You know he won the first Showtime heavyweight title last year when he beat Semmy. So he kept it then defended it vs. Bouzidi, and now due to DQ lost it to Gerges. So it means he doesnt have the title anymore, that he lost it, or it was taken away from him, to me it has a very similar meaning.
D-rop, Video editor (2350 posts)
Posted: 2010-06-07 at: 09:01
@szanpan OK, I am sorry. A
misunderstanding. For me there is quite a difference between if I lose something or if something is taken away from me ...
szanpan (2085 posts)
Posted: 2010-06-07 at: 09:13
@D-rop no no i mean you asked "what title"? and
also. is was a title defending fight no? Together
with the DQ it means the title was by this act
automatically taken away from him no? As it was
taken away it means he lost it by this act,he lost
the title and also the fight in this context not
because he doesnt find it anywhere :) sometimes
English is indeed a trickly language :D

i know i m not clear enough but that how they say
no? only they also use the word stripped. You lose a
fight, but when DQ at a title fight it means the
title is no longer yours it s taken away from you.
Yes tricky and i know how you mean only myself not clear enough to express how i do mean what i say.
But let us ask everyones opinion on this because now i wonder really.we should start a new thread on this :) lost or taken away ...

@Burim lol :)the two verbs are different. Lose means a statement. Taking away is an action. He lost the fight via DQ thats why the belt or title was taken away from him.. but yes you can say it with losing altogether too :)

I enjoy watching fights with Japanese comment far
more than with any other, because it gives it the
magic, like being out of this world, gives it some
mysterious quality, like OMG what are they saying
now, why is Peter in instead of Remy in the semis

much more excited about it that way.

will be involved like this in his career, Things
like this happends, Look at Musashi in the fight
against that korea taekwondo fighter in 2007 or was
it 2008.. hmm. He got crazy looked like he wanted
to kill him after he knocked him out & down, Lucky
for everybody including the sport that the referee
could hold Musashi away. And i must say me
personaly i havent seen this itsshowtime fight in
HQ yet, But to judge from the youtube clip i think
that europeople hate things like this more that
Japanese people but i am not sure ofcourse nobody
like behaever like this anywhere.
