I was frankly incredibly disappointed. Even though I knew not to expect much of Sapp I wish the fight had lasted enough for a few exchanges between the fighters. Do you think its possible for Sapp to ever be good? Do you think other fighters would have given up so easily? Doesn't he have a sense of pride to fight on like a man?

I'm of the opinion that his body type makes it very hard for him to have enough stamina to fight consistently throughout a round. Also, his legs are not very good for kicking.

Maybe he should go back to Pride... It seems incredible to me that someone so big and tough looking like him can lose so many times in such a retarded looking way

Anyway, enough yapping from me, your thoughts?

Agree. Sure Sapp was expected to loose, but with his body he can take a lot more beating than that.

Suppose that was the last we saw of Sapp in K-1, and suppose it's just as well. Although it's a bit sad.

I think that Sapp never have been anything but pathetic. But a couple of years ago he at least wanted to win some times. Now i don't know what he wants but i'm sure that whatever he wants to do fighting is no part of it. Sapp has not only no stamina and no technique but also no fighting spirit.

Sapp acted worse than an Italian soccer player, and that’s something I really dislike. Sapp showed up for Showbiz and cash that was quite apparent.

Sapp never have been or nor will be a great fighter in my eyes, yet he have succeeded in doing one thing great that’s making business out of K1 without being a star, that’s impressive. His record is as lousy as his technique and yet we like this big “beast” in some kind of way.

Admit that it’s time for Sapp to retire and enjoy the money and entertaining fights he has made to K1 history today. No more scandal fights please!

Sapp was really out of shape I think. He hadn't fought at all in over a year and a half, and he was never in great shape to begin with. I think he should go fight in Pride or Cage Rage, Sapp in K-1 was a joke that went on too long and stopped being funny years ago. K-1 should ditch all the freaks and get back to what K-1 is all about: martial arts masters and world-champion fighters.

Absolutely agree man. Get rid of the clowns and more pure fighting. The whole idea of Sapp being a kick boxer was ridiculous anyway. I must admit when I first saw him fight about 5 years ago I was impressed by his entrance and size but that was it... His fighting was very disapointing

Well, i guess im the only one that thinks that Arets landed a good solid knee to Bobs body. I think that the ko reminds alot of the Ko Holm got against the giant. Sure Bob is a big guy and there for u expect him to be able to take more damage. But the fact is that Bob has never been able to take a good blow and smile. Sure Bob is a lousy fighter and he has no stamina or technic, but he is still a fighter that many people (including myself) like to see. He has won twice over Hoost and he has also won Whole Gp events and many big superfights, so just imagine if he had good technic and stammina.

The way i see it BOB SAPP is good for K-1, he has gotten many people to open thier eyes 4 K-1 and he is always on everybodyds lipps when talking about K-1.. Hate him or love him, but i still think he is good 4 K-1.

I've never been impressed with Sapp. And probably never will be.

I suppose you can say that someone like Bob Sapp will make more people interested in K1 by virtue of his size and personality. He did beat Hoost and that's very impressive but I'm sure we could grab heaps of ex NFL players who could fight to the level of Sapp. My point is that you need more than an enormous body to be a good fighter or worthy of praise.
We need only look at Jan Nortje and the ex Sumo guy whose name escapes me to realise big in fighting doesn't always equal best.

you are right he is not that type of fighters who can last till the final round i think he should go back to pride.

why are everybody saying that sapp should go to Pride? Pride doesn't want him anymore, as far as i know, and secondly Pride hasn't put toghether a show since Zuffa bought them a couple of months ago. Sapp is actually not currently in K-1, he is in Cage Rage but K-1 and cage rage cooperates and have an agreement that they can borrow figters from eachother. in cage rage sapp had a scheduled fight but he claimed to be injured or somthing like that and refused to fight.

he was supposed to fight Gary Turner, but was injured so Tank abbot from the UFC took his place, and lost.

Sapp doesn't belong into the world of K1!
He is not a fighter and actually I think the same about Hong Man Choi,Long,Nortje etc. They all belong to a freak show and not into the K1 ring!
The only big fighter who has a good technique and fighting style ist Semmy Schilt!

i do agree that sapp would do well in WWF, i think he could be a great star there. When it comes to K-1 i think its like this.

Bob sapp made himself a BIG name very fast in K-1 since he was something "totaly new" 5 years ago we werent used to see big fighters like that, and alot of people including my self was impressed and thrilled by his size and crazy fighting style.

today we dont get the same thrill from seeing bob or any other big fighter, (its old news), but i still belevie that K-1 should keep the big fighters.

Sure i would also love to see more good technic fighters in K-1, but i also love the Big vs Small guy fights and also the BIG vs the BIG.

I think that its the ( David and Goliath ) part of K-1 thats made K-1 so succesfull. And the first fight of that typ that i can remember in K-1 was Bob Sapp vs Tsuyoshi Nakasako.

Therefor i still think that K-1 has alot to be thankfull for when it comes to Bob sapp, and i still belive that he is good for the game. But i do also agree that his star dosent shine as bright as it used to, but acording to me its still bright and shiny.

I would put the K1 figthers in 3 Groups K1 Max;
then another group up to 100kg; and than a group over 100kg!So it would be more even! And than you could do superfights like David vs Goliath! In my opinion that would be the best solution!

I definitely agree David and Goliath situations are awesome when the small guy wins. Such as Kaoklai vs Mighty Mo. I love really good Muay Thai fighters.
