Giorgio Petrosian is the Italian name for Gevorg Petrosyan.Giorgio "The Doctor" Petrosyan (Armenian:Ô³Õ¥Õ¾Õ¸Ö€Õ£ ÕŠÕ¥Õ¿Ö€Õ¸Õ½ÕµÕ¡Õ¶; born December 10, 1985) is professional Italian-Armenian Welterweight kickboxer and martial artist, fighting out of Satori Gladiatorium in Gorizia, Italy. He is current WMC Intercontinental Middleweight Muay Thai champion competing in K-1 MAX
Biography
Born as Gevorg Petrosyan in Yerevan, Armenia, Giorgio started to train Muay Thai at the age of 14 when he moved to Italy. He lives in Gorizia, Italy and trains at Satori Gladiatorium Nemesis gym under the guidance of Alfio Romanut. He had his first fight at the age of 16.
K-1 MAX Tournaments
2009 MAX: Giorgio's first year in the MAX Tournament, he made his way into the final 8 with a unanimous decision win over Dzhabar Askerov. He then went on to defeat 2002 MAX Champion Albert Kraus by unanimous decision, in the quarter finals. And a 1st round knockout over Yuya Yamamoto ensured his place in the finals. There he met Andy Souwer, where he dominated the seasoned two time Chapmion for all 3 rounds.
2010 MAX: To start of the tournament he defeated Vitaly Gurkov via unanimous decision to enter the final 8. He then went on to defeat Albert Kraus by unanimous decision in the quarter finals once again. In the semi finals he defeated the always dangerous Mike Zambidis. In the finals Giorgio thoroughly dominated top 10 middle weight fighter, Yoshihiro Sato.
