Description

Zabit "Maugli" Samedov (Azeri: Zabit Səmədov, Russian: Забит Самедов, born June 21, 1984 in Gardabani, Georgia) is a Belarusian kickboxer fighting out of Chinuk Gym in Minsk, Belarus.

Biography and career

Zabit Samedov was born in Georgia into an Azeri family and moved to Minsk when he was 10 years old. He started practicing martial arts at the age of 9. At very first he studied karate for 6 months under Aziz Dursunov, then switched to Muaythai. In 1998, he joined Chinuk Gym, a well known gym based in Minsk. He trained with Alexey Ignashov and Sergei Gur under the management of his trainer Dmitry Piochesky.

He was recruited by top martial arts organization K-1, after achieving several titles in various events between 2004 and 2006. He began to fight in consistance by the title of K-1 Fighting Network in Riga in 2006 in Latvia.

On August 17, 2007, following the K-1 World GP 2007 in Las Vegas event the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) issued a statement that Samedov tested positive for Stanozolol, an anabolic steroid.[1]

On 26 April 2008, Samedov competed in K-1 World Grand Prix 2008 in Amsterdam, dispatched Doug Viney and Brian Douwes respectively. However, he was beaten by Errol Zimmerman in the final on points.[2]

he's an interesting fighter, with plenty of heart and a great deal of fighting spirit, but I fear he's not up for a great career, because of his tendence to get cracking kos

he is a great fighter of K-1 and he is just beginning to his career in K-1, he is from good fight school like Chinuk, it is one of the best schools in Europe. Also, he has fight power in his blood coming from the nation.

Good fighter, but i think he would do better in an 85-90kg weightclass, i cant realy see him beatin big guys like JLB or Aerts.

I like to see Zabit fight...like Pablo said, he is a fighter with a lot of heart and fighting spirit. But unfortunately I must agree also with Daniel, that he probably lacks the KGs to make it in the league with guys like Peter or Jerome....let alone Semmy...but his age is still on his side, so who know...

The best K-1 community online!

The focus is on building a community that offers more to the users than any other K-1 website. The focus is also on that the community should be totally user driven, with the users as main writers of content. Who would for example write a better fight report than a fan who actually was at the fight? Or who could write a more interesting fighter profile than the fan who loves and really knows about a fighter? We believe that this approach will lead to that fansofk1.com has the most interesting K-1 information.
