Zabit Samedov Postfight Interview

After his disappointing decision loss to Doug Viney in the finals of the 2007 World Grand Prix in Las Vegas, Zabit Samedov sat down to speak with the press.

What did you think of your performance tonight?

I was hoping for better things. I want to thank the organizers of the event. I hope I put on a good show.

What will you do now?

I want to get back in top shape and return.

What did you think of the judges decision?

I was very confident that I'd won the fight. I knew I'd won the first two rounds, so I was more cautious in the third. The third could have gone either way, but I was very confident of the first two rounds.  Its such a shame.

Did Viney have an easier tournament than you?

I had a much more difficult tournament than Viney. I'd prepaed to fight Pitchkunov, the tournament was designed to give the win to Pitchkunov, he had the easiest route to the final. He was the one I'd prepared for. Pitchkunov is a better fighter than Viney.

How did you feel after the Barry fight?

I was still sore from the Barry fight, my legs are still sore now. I haven't been 100% since the Amsterdam tournament, my legs have been hurting since then. I started with K-1 one year ago. Since then I've fought 25 fights. That's more than one fight each month. I want to heal up, get 100% again.

Both in Amsterdam and here in Las Vegas you were the crowd favorite, where do you get this charisma?

I like to entertain, I like to be liked by the audience.

Do you want a rematch?

Of course I want a rematch, I very confident of my skills.

The best K-1 community online!

The focus is on building a community that offers more to the users than any other K-1 website. The focus is also on that the community should be totally user driven, with the users as main writers of content. Who would for example write a better fight report than a fan who actually was at the fight? Or who could write a more interesting fighter profile than the fan who loves and really knows about a fighter? We believe that this approach will lead to that fansofk1.com has the most interesting K-1 information.
