Buakaw going to retire!!!!

According to MyMuayThai.com:

I was hoping it wouldn’t come to this, but it appears this is his only option.   Buakaw and his manager and camp owner Mr. Pramuk Rojanathan, failed to reach an agreement.

The new agreement was for Buakaw to split winning with his camp 60/40 and 75/25 for appearances outside of the ring.  Buakaw’s lawyers argued that he should receive 100% of the earnings outside of the ring, as he doesn’t have that many fights left in him.

Buakaw has done a lot for our sport, and it’s a shame that he had to retire under these circumstances.  I’m certain he’ll land on his feet.  I’m sure there are plenty of people who are lined up to train at his new camp.

Apparently on announcing his retirement, the Mr. Pramuk and his son broke into applause that lasted several mins. Classy…

The Deputy Governor of the SAT said that “it is most regrettable that an agreement could not be reached, & that things had to end this way. He said that it is bad for Thailand’s image that Mr. Pramuk & Mr. Teeraphat had clapped happily when Buakaw said that he would retire & not continue to fight & achieve success for the nation.”

Thanks for the fights, thanks for representing Thailand and Muay Thai!  Best of luck to you!

Why is it so hard to change gym or agent? What do they hold him by? It's a huge waste for the sport, as is a shame that he isn't invited by either GG, IS and K-1 anymore. By my standards, he is the greatest person in the sport ever.

The best K-1 community online!

The focus is on building a community that offers more to the users than any other K-1 website. The focus is also on that the community should be totally user driven, with the users as main writers of content. Who would for example write a better fight report than a fan who actually was at the fight? Or who could write a more interesting fighter profile than the fan who loves and really knows about a fighter? We believe that this approach will lead to that fansofk1.com has the most interesting K-1 information.
