K-1 max announcement
No petro
The information regarding K-1 is really beginning to pour out and in a hurry. The show that we all knew was happening has finally been formally announced by the new owners of K-1. LiverKick took some time today to speak with Doug Kaplan, the head of K-1 Global, and were impressed with what we heard. A part of K-1's big push today involves this press announcement which was sent out to the media today. This announcement solidifies the names that we've seen kicked around for the MAX tournament, with a few spots still open.
To read the full press release, head here.
The big news are the participants in the K-1 World MAX Final 16 so far, which we have the names of twelve fighters, with four spots still being negotiated. Also there are a few Heavyweight Superfights being planned, with some absolutely huge names in talks to fight. Hopefully we'll have more on that next week, as well as venue information.

Great news, but with no BPP and Petrosyan,
they're missing two of the best if not the best
world.

@Ghetto Commando ??
With Petrosyan and Buakaw not participating, I
would think Souwer was one of the favorites to win
it ...

Yes Andy turn 30 this year so he is way too
old...give me a break if you do not think he is one
of the top 16 in the world at this weight you are
very uniformed or are biased against Souwer

Voting for Souwer also, no Buakaw, Kraus and of
course Petrosyan this could be his (last) chance...

Mirko Filipovic is on the fightcard. He signed one
year contract with K1. The name of his opponent is
a big surprise. I wonder who that is. Maybe Remy?
