K-1 Legend Mike Bernardo Passes Away ...
from Liverkick.com

It is never good news to wake up to see that a former fighter has passed on, and even worse when it is someone who was still young, and that is sadly the case today as Mike Bernardo has passed away. Bernardo is a former K-1 fighter with a list of who's who on his record, including a qualifying tournament victory in 2000. Bernardo's K-1 career began in 1994, with his most successful year being 1996 where he made it to the finals in a legendary battle with Andy Hug.
Bernardo was a Cape Town, South Africa native who was just 42 years old. As of press time there are not many details about his passing outside of rumors which we will not print at this time. More information as it is available.

I am giving this article a 1. Not because of
D-Rop's writing, but because this is sad news.
A pity...

@D-rop It's like a coworker
Friday night asked a few of us at break..."So who
is excited about Whitney Houston's
funeral?"Funerals aren't anything to get excited about. I can't say "oh, Bernardo died, this is 5 star material!"
But yeah. Are there any more details? Was it illness, accident?

@ Shootboxing Canuck their speculating suicide although its still under investigation...I hope his fighting career did not lead to this as there has been talk about how concussions in sports can lead to brain issues that can lead t o depression..but obviously would depend on the individual IMO
