Yokkao Extreme Fightcard

from Liverkick.com , by Rian Scalia

Kickfighting in 2012 is getting kicked off in Italy in a big way this Saturday, January 21st in Milan. Yokkao Boxing is putting on a huge event, Yokkao Extreme, that features some of the top worldwide talent in both Kickboxing and Muay Thai. Featuring a stacked card with eight Muay Thai fights and four K-1 rules fights, the card will play host to a large crowd at the Forum D'Assago.

Buakaw Por. Pramuk will make a return to K-1 rules in the main event when he faces off against Dzhabar Askerov. The two have fought before back in 2007 under te same ruleset where Buakaw took a unanimous decision. Askerov has improved since then though, going 10-1 in his last 11, winning the Tatneft Cup at 70kg in both 2010 and 2011. Buakaw is still a big favorite over Askerov though. Nevertheless, the fight should be a good one with Askerov's forward style clashing against Buakaw's Thai style.

Giorgio Petrosyan starts off his 2012 year against Abraham Roqueni. 2011 was really Roqueni's coming out party, as he was pretty much an unknown to most fans before his win over Andy Souwer. Afterwards, he picked up another win over a well known fighter in Gago Drago. Losing in the semi-finals of Thai Fight to Frank Giorgi, Roqueni will look to rebound but he's facing the toughest challenge possible. Giorgio Petrosyan last fought in November, beating Zeben Diaz in a fight where he looked a bit rusty. Petrosyan seemed to get his stride in the third round though and should be in top form for this fight.

In a Muay Thai bout, Saenchai steps up in weight once again to face one of the top Muay Thai fighters outside of Thailand at welterweight, Fabio Pinca. The weight is -66kg, and should be a real challenge for Saenchai due to the size. Saenchai last lost to Sagetdao Phetphaythai in December so he'll look to get back in the win column before facing F16 Rajanont not even two weeks later in Thailand. Fabio Pinca last lost to Kem Sitsongpeenong in the Thai Fight finals, so he's not the only one in this match-up who wants to rebound with a win.

These are the three biggest bouts on the card. The full 12-fight fight card featuring eight Muay Thai fights and four K-1 rules fights:

I would have prefered buakaw vs petrosyan giorgio - and dzhabar vs petrosyan armen

but let's see how petrosyan g. is doing since his last outing was a bit of a lackluster.

thx d-rop

The best K-1 community online!

The focus is on building a community that offers more to the users than any other K-1 website. The focus is also on that the community should be totally user driven, with the users as main writers of content. Who would for example write a better fight report than a fan who actually was at the fight? Or who could write a more interesting fighter profile than the fan who loves and really knows about a fighter? We believe that this approach will lead to that fansofk1.com has the most interesting K-1 information.
