IT'S SHOWTIME-worldtitle 95kg max vacant!

The IT`S SHOWTIME Worldtitle 95k MAX, which was in the possesion of Tyrone Spong is now vacant once more.

The reasons for this are as follows:

1.The titledefender has to defend his belt within one year. This period can be changed to two years by IS. However these two years have now gone past. Tyrone was supposed to defend his title in May 2010 in the Amsterdam Arena against Melvin Manhoef, unfortunately this fight never happened due to an injury of Tyrone Spong.

2.Tyrone`s management announced Tyrone will not fight below 95k anymore.

(Source: IS official website)

So the title is open again for many fighters who want to become the new IS champ 95k MAX!
I wonder if they are gonna organize a new tournament for the belt or just make it a superfight between two good names. Personally I like the idea of a eight- or four-man tournament. There are numerous fighters in that weightclass who can make up a very interesting tournament if you ask me :)

Who would you like to see in this event?

Somehow I keep thinking about Nathan Corbett.
Also, Melvin Manhoef.

I think Corbett is doing same thing as Tyrone, now he weight 97+kg, he also aiming for tough heavyweight.

@Jonnie77 I was thinking the same thing. Would be awesome if they could get Corbett!
I wonder what Saki weighs now and if he is willing to drop for this fight..
Man I hope they go for an 8 man tournament haha :P
Hope Manhoef does well in here, because he isn`t getting any younger and he always puts on great fights, so hope to see him in action a lot this year!

I sure hope they will make it an 8-men-tournament. That would be awesome. I love these tournaments.

Just a few suggestions:
Saki - Manhoef - Corbett - Kyotaro - Samedov - Catinas - Mousasi(?) - Morosanu(?) - Ouzgni(?) - Holtzken(?)
And I suggest Spong loses a little weight. There are prizes to win in this division for him. Forget about the HW division.

At this moment Saki is 105 kg! before he was around 100 kg

that means he would have to loose 10 kg!

thats to much i think! knowing that he is on the right weight now to compete top k-1 haveyweights!
To much weight switching is not good in my opinion!

@ronaldo That is true.
That is why they (FEG/ItsShowtime) should make one or two more weight divisions. Definitely, not just for once. I think Its Showtime already works with more divisions than FEG.

We would see much better fights from fighter which should fight in lighter division than Heavyweight. Few years ago I understood why they didnt want to create other division, all finest fighters was Heavyweight or Lightweight, but now its changed little bit there are more marvelous fighter in lighter division, like 96-kg 91-kg 86-kg or 81-kg etc. I think even FEG is thinking about that. We have already K-1 Max 63-kg and K-1 Youth. I think is one more time finacial problem. Its Showtime just created Its Showtime Grandprix, Im almost sure both organization want to make more division, but mountin that needed to be overcome is called money.

Spong could easily be the winner of this weightclass. I think the hype about being heavyweight on all prize is a bit too big nowadays.. but i guess, the heavyweight brings more viewers, more money.. ?
