Daniel Ghita is injured

"The Voice" Michael Schievallo (on Twitter), as well as Dan Herbertson (K1 Interviewer), who just interviewed Ghita about an hour ago, said that Ghita confirmed his leg injury, which he got two weeks ago during his training.

However, Ghita said that this is not an issue and that he WILL be fighting.

Man,this is sad for me. As you know, I am a big, big fan of Ghita and this was supposed to be his year. He stated after the Final 16 that he is thinking about retirement, so this could have been his last chance. :(  Unless he finishes his opponents quickley, he stands no chance this year with an injured leg.

:(((((

Perhaps this was the fighter Schiavello mentioned on his twitter.
I hope he does not suffer too much from the injury since he is one of the best fighters in their and has the skills to get far.
BTW I am still amazed by his thoughts of retiring.
Can you imagine he wins the Saki fight and then can not go on due to his injury and they get a reserve fighter in there...all can happen in K1 ;-)

Too bad. I really like Ghita. Saki has mad lowkick and i bet he will use them on his injtred leg

@Rob He said on our national television that he MIGHT be retiring, especially if he wins the Final. If NOT, he might continue. But THIS year was special, with no Hari, no Bonjaski. Damn it!

@stark Yeah, he did not want to disclose where it was, and he said he was feeling fine, but I doubt it very much. You know Saki will be looking to find the injured spot, like a shark after blood.

Truthfully though, I do not think any fighter whether it be kickboxing or MMA comes into a fight 100%. Hopefully he can do his best and not take too much damage.

Ahh, so here the rumour is. Thanks for clearing it out. Cheers!

I dont get it?? Why did Ghita or someone in his camp even publicly announce this...whatever psycological advantage Ghita might have had over his opponents, particularily Saki is gone. Not to mention this will rev up Sakis engine even more. You should never announce an injury unless you are not going to fight. This says to me this is a pretty bad injury and that Ghita believes he will need an excuse in advance if he loses or cant continue. Super dissapointing. I had Ghita getting to the final but that does not look plausible now if indeed this injury is serious.

The best K-1 community online!

The focus is on building a community that offers more to the users than any other K-1 website. The focus is also on that the community should be totally user driven, with the users as main writers of content. Who would for example write a better fight report than a fan who actually was at the fight? Or who could write a more interesting fighter profile than the fan who loves and really knows about a fighter? We believe that this approach will lead to that fansofk1.com has the most interesting K-1 information.
