It seems there will be 4 wildcard spots.
If Bonjasky, Hari and Overeem are in.
I hope the spots will be filled with:

1) Peter Aerts.
2) Melvin Manhoef.
3) Hesdy Gerges.
4) Gokhan Saki.
Others I like: Alexey Ignashov, Zabit Samedov. Maybe a reserve fight.

Great news, but sad that there aren´t anymore qualifying GPs - and it seems Remy wont participate in the final 16 (unless Tany simply forgot to include him but that is unlikely). So there are 6 wild card slots open. That could give us an opportunity to see some interesting new fighters in K-1, like Corbett, Gerges, Balrak etc. but i hope they don´t forget Aerts, Saki, Ignashov etc. (and i hope they don´t include Jaideep because he is kinda boring imo)

@stark that incorrect date must be the press conference for the final 16 fights. i wonder if there is a fan vote this year

Jaideep boring ? Teixeira s style more. Dont think he s got his place in final 16 (even if he s already qualified). Gerges deserves it, sure, like Saki and Manhoef. But Bonjasky said in last interview that probably he ll be there.

@mehdiman To each and his own mehdiman. Maybe Jaideep isn´t boring - just in my mind :)

But Teixeira could at least give someone like Zimmerman an incredibly hard time (and could maybe even beat him on a good day), and he beat Kyotaro and LeBanner. That qualifies him imo. But I also like a karateka in there, and it´s no secret that im biased towards him. I kinda liked "his style" from the start. But yes he has had some very boring fights, that is true

Yes everything can happened in a fight ... Even with Teixeira! To be a bit serious i cant denied that if he s here he s one of best fighter especially in his way (kyokushinkai i guess). But comparing his style in a k1 rules fight to others... We all agree.

@Cdn Mongoose What a surprise today at work! I bumped into Albert Kraus who was visiting the dolphinshow with his wife and kids. So I took the oppurtunity to ask him a few questions about the current state of K1. He told he had no fights planned until the Final 8 in November, so he could focus on that tournament. Also he heard about Souwer not being present at the tournament and some other fighters who would not be there, who should be present in his opinion. He didn`t knew much about the whole mess FEG made this year, just that his tournament is still on as planned, which is his main focus.

..btw his hands were scary huge!!!

Good for you, Rob.

@mehdiman Haha no not even close, but in comparison to my hands and him being at 70 kg...I`d say they`re "slightly" above average :P You don`t wanna get hit by those bricks!

The best K-1 community online!

The focus is on building a community that offers more to the users than any other K-1 website. The focus is also on that the community should be totally user driven, with the users as main writers of content. Who would for example write a better fight report than a fan who actually was at the fight? Or who could write a more interesting fighter profile than the fan who loves and really knows about a fighter? We believe that this approach will lead to that fansofk1.com has the most interesting K-1 information.
