Daniel Ghita: " Morosanu is not at my level."

Arrogance or Realism?

Daniel Ghita: "Morosanu is not at my level."

Over at K-1 ColliZion, there has been an attempt to build up a fight between Romanian K-1 fighters Daniel Ghita and Catalin Morosanu over the past year.  A company that is very proud of it's Romanian heritage, ColliZion has been comparing their two native stars ever since Ghita's rise to prominence in 2009. While there's no doubt ColliZion would love to have this fight, Ghita has made it clear that's not likely: "Morosanu is not at my level.  I'm not interested in fighting him."  Instead, Ghita has his sights set on former GP champion Remy Bonjasky, who he is angling to face in the coming year.

While it is true that Ghita is a step up from Morosanu at this point, I do think Ghita needs to take some more mid-range fights and not insist on fighting men like Schilt and Bonjasky right off the bat.  A win over a fighter like Morosanu is just what Ghita needs to show that he has the talent to back up the hype he has received in the past year.

Ghita will get his chance to impress this spring for It's Showtime, as he faces Dzevad Poturak in February, Attila Karacs in March, and Hesdy Gerges in May.

Hard to say both have nice Fighitng record Catalin is more agressive and explosice ,but Ghita have nice low kick devastating low kick style and as a person I like more Daniel. I think it's more likly true if Daniel will win his future fights it will show undoubtly that he is on higher level but now there is not so big diffrance between them.

I didn't find his statement arrogant either. It's true - Catalin isn't at his level and I doubt he will ever reach it. Ghita is just to big for Morosanu, not to mention experience, technique and conditioning. Both had a very good year and K-1 has handled them well, but I believe Ghita is the Romanian to count on in the future. Well, those three fights look very interesting (especially against Gerges) and should show how good he really is.

I'd actually like to see them fight. Morosanu has great spirit and he should be given some nice fights to proof he can take it. I'd like to see some more agression from Ghita, he looks like Feitosa. He has the KO ability, but he seems to hold it back if you know what I mean.

yep, definitely he needs more killer instinct and agression

Yeah, what Ghita said, is probably true. But I am not as convinced as he seems to be. Is he really top-level K-1? .... Maybe ....
Still, I find it a bit arrogant of Ghita to put it like that. But in the fighters-world, almost nobody wants to be sympathetic and maybe a little humble about himself.

It`s like being a fighterpilot i think. You HAVE to believe that you are the best, or else you wouldn`t want to put your face on the line. Ghita is better than Morosanu, but the difference is not as big as Ghita would have it. Morosanu has speed, aggression and warrior spirit, I think he could put up a fight. Actually it could be really cool because they "mismatch" perfectly. Ghita is big, strong, patient, and tactically skilled with great defense, while Catalin is do or die with surprise KO possibilities.

This is indeed tough year for Ghita, both Poturak and Hesdy are very dangerous, and Karacs is maybe easiest of those three. The type of fighter like Morosanu is never to be disregarded.if you are strong, aggressive and full of stamina you will knockout everybody but the best, and even then you have some chance.I also think Ghita is the better technical fighter, but I like Catalin more as he is such a colorful character.I would love to see that fight.

as a person I prefer Morosanu. He is funny, he has a big mouth, while Ghita is silent. As a fighter? I think both have a great future in K-1. I'm waiting for Morosanu's comment. If he is not commenting until February 6, I'll ask him personally :)

The best K-1 community online!

The focus is on building a community that offers more to the users than any other K-1 website. The focus is also on that the community should be totally user driven, with the users as main writers of content. Who would for example write a better fight report than a fan who actually was at the fight? Or who could write a more interesting fighter profile than the fan who loves and really knows about a fighter? We believe that this approach will lead to that fansofk1.com has the most interesting K-1 information.
