Question: Congratulation on the birth of your child before the 16.
Remmy: thank you
Q: Do you think it's a fate that the child was born
by the time you have defeated Melvin?( what the heck???)
R: no, I don't see any direct relevance. in year 2003 I had my first child born on 29th Dec. but it didn't effect the game at all. The game with Melvin, the first two rounds I couldn't predict his plan so I had a difficulty dealing.
Q: You were down a few time from clinch, were you not nervous?
R: I was rather distracted than nervous. I was down a few times which I think it was obvious fouls. I feel I broke his plan & had a good fight with Melvin. Based on the result of 3 rounds, I have won the game.
Q: You picked the 4th ball in the draw, you could have more choices but why did you choose Errol?
R: I have never fought him before & he was calling me (Errol was waving to Remmy) I think Errol is a good fighter. Above all I wanted to choose rather than being chosen.
Q: You were talking to Errol in the draw.
R: the night before the draw we all think who to fight. In the draw Errol & I were talking like ' what number did you pick?' & 'not telling'. I think it's better system to have the draw the day after the fight because gives time to think through the night.
Q: Honestly fighting anyone in the tournament would be deadly tough. As the king of last WGP, what do you think?
A: It would be tough, everyone will agree. Every one will work hard & prepare to aim the top. no such as beginners, only pros. Teixeira, Alistar as well. Every one wants to be the king. I am sure it will be a battle.
Wish a rematch with Badr
Q: the match with Errol is thought to be a champion VS the new generation.
R: As he is surviving in the WGP, he can eb young but not a beginner. He is very experienced fighter & has a strong eager to win. When I first saw Errol, I thought he was young but fully experieced. Unless the bell rings, I can't predict anything for myself.
Q: If you could choose the opponent, would you have picked badr becasue of the last year's result?
R: If it was a one-match, I would have picked Badr but it is a tournament. The point is how to fight effectively and to become the top, not the rematch. Badr picked Ruslan for the same reason because he knows him from the revious fight. It doesn't mean it's going to be an easy fight but some parts they would feel easy for each other to fight. Each fighters have hard ones & easy ones to fight. Fighting advantageously such as choosing an easy opponent, is the key in the tournament.
Q: Badr says you have ran away to the other block.
R: Of cousre, there is no need to choose a tough one with the start. If you want to set me a fight with him(not sure exactly what it meant), I will ask one match to K-1, not in a tournament. In the tournament even if you win the quarter final, you still have two more to go so it is reasonable to choose easy one to start.
Alistar's challenge is part time job
Q: then Errol is not so hard one.
R: I am not putting Errol to anywhere. Although Errol is a strong one, he is young so less experieced of tournamnets which I think I can take as a chance. And in the moment I could only choose Errol as a choise of choosing becasue Badr & Ruslan were set up.
Q: Last year had many problems, will you show us your real skill this year?
R: I want to be the fair & square king. i don't know it will happen on 5th Dec. but if Badr & I fight in the final, I will defeat him for good.
Q: Peter has lost to Alistar.
R: I was very dissapointed. It would be a big medal to Alistar for beating Mr.K-1. I have practiced with Peter sometimes, I repect him as a person. It was painful watch a great fighter losing. It is a good thing that Peter has contributed to K-1. What upsets me is that people who are just starting to watch K-1 will only think Peter as how he has been recenlty. It's like denying all the 17 years he has fought so hard.
Q: Indeed, it was a shock as a fan for myself. Alistar is planing to win this WGP & then go back to mma next year. It's a serious matter for K-1.
R: Simply it is important to beat him as a fighter. But it's not all. mma fighters keep coming to K-1 area & knocking down fellow k-1 fighters is not a good thing. He should not be the king. K-1 is not his main job, it's like a part time job for him but K-1 is the main job for us so we need to stop him.
