FansOfK1.com Team Competition, Update 1

Finally the 2009 FansOfK1.com Team Competition is rolling. This year the competition started with a star packed first event, which suited many of the teams.

Much like last years competition, the members have done rather conservative team choices. Schilt, Hari and Bonjasky seems to be in most teams, although there are one or two more daring choices in many teams. Aerts isn't as popular as last year, but Melvin Manhoef, Gokhan Saki and Ewerton Texeira is new on the list.

Unless we will see a new star rising in K-1 this year the competition probably is more about how you've shared your money on the team, rather than exactly who is in your team. Cause the the fighters most likely to win many fights are in many teams.

Enough babble, who leads the competition you guys wonder? Currently Fighting girl is in lead. She managed to pick three winners in the Yokohama event in her team, namely Texeira, Saki and Bonjasky. Her team will probably do ok for the reminder of the year, but will the Texeira and Saki be able to take those last critical points in the WGP Final in December? I'm not so sure about that...

Stagerlee calls his team the three musketeers. I'm not sure if Saki, Bonjasky and Hari has been called that before ;-) but currently the three musketeers has brought Stagerlee to a second position in the competition. With Hari in his team, Stagerlee probably stands a better chance than Fighting girl in the long run.

Marcelt and Galeos is in third position, both due to their rather heavy betting on Schilt. Both also has Bonjasky and Hari in their teams.

Next event

K-1 has not announced their next WGP event yet. Usually it is the Europe GP held in May, but this year K-1 is having troubles finding someone that can host it. Surely we'll get an update on the WGP schedule pretty soon.

The best K-1 community online!

The focus is on building a community that offers more to the users than any other K-1 website. The focus is also on that the community should be totally user driven, with the users as main writers of content. Who would for example write a better fight report than a fan who actually was at the fight? Or who could write a more interesting fighter profile than the fan who loves and really knows about a fighter? We believe that this approach will lead to that fansofk1.com has the most interesting K-1 information.
