Stagerlee (37 posts)
Posted: 2009-03-28 at: 11:45
Maeda is a very clever fighter. I watched his Teixeria match. He was like a monkey:) Haha... Running away constantly. Teixeria got mad. He couldnt catch him. He was tired so much. And then Maeda got him in the last round. He is doing the strategies of his antreneurs. I think Gokhan is a stronger fighter than Maeda. But he got tired in the first match. I think they can give one more extra round. But Anyway. Thatz was an exciting match. And i loved that :) Now great match comin.
Supporting Bonjasky. (I dont like him but like his fight style. )

Yes Remy got him knockdown in the last round. But what about the first and second rounds? This is bullshit. There should be extra round. I cant believe that. And Remy (the *stard) provoked again him after the game. He doesnt know anything about fair-play. Good fighter, bad personality. He should look at all those good fighters (Aerts, Le Banner, Sefo...) with excellent personality.

@Stagerlee
I totally agree! There shoul've been an extra round...
However, this was a good ending for k-1 - and I think they wanted to end it this way
Jake (281 posts)

Overeem won, I dont care what anybody says he won two rounds. Fuck remy, come to mma
Fighting_GirL (33 posts)

@Stagerlee

What do you meen by saying that Bonjasky has a bad personality?
1. It was very stuppid when Alistar gave him that "oscar" actually he provoked him first.
Secondly the 1st and the 2nd rounds were just hugging for me for both sides and these throwing downs aren`t fair-play...
and 3th Remy has a good personality definitely and probably he`s one of the most intelligent fighters in K-1!!!
Stagerlee (37 posts)
Posted: 2009-03-28 at: 12:22
@Princess: I agree. Let it end. I believe Dutch or German organizators doing this better than anyone. In fact i was disappointed with the K-1 Max GP. Masato & Sato, Masato & Ksychenko matches. Let the Japanese make their domestic shows with Japanese fighters. And letz wait for an alternative from Europe. Ya know this is bout money. (Last line from Marlon Brando :)

Stagerlee (37 posts)

@Fighting Girl: Yer right that Alistair was doin out of rulez like kicking while holding leg and throwing. Yer absolutely right. But have i missed smthing? I saw that Remy gave that Oscar to Alistair? Well, i doubt myself right now. Am i wrong?

BTW: Check my posts before the match. I believe that Remy is a one of the very very best. But I have not forgotten those Hollwood-style teardrops:)

@Stagerlee

On the pressconference Alistar gave the "oscar" to Bonjasky and after the fight Remy just gave him it back.

@detroitbushido

For me that knockdown was more important than the 1st and 2nd rounds.

@Fighting_GirL

Forgive me but ive been watching combat sports all my life and im kind of new to kickboxing but in any other sport 2 rounds=knockdown.
Stagerlee (37 posts)
Posted: 2009-03-28 at: 12:48
@Fighting_GirL

Well i do not approve both of the behaviours. But doing that thing on the ring is something diffrent from the press conf.

And yeah, for me that Hollwood much more important than K-1.
Overeem = King Kong
Remy = The girl in the hand of King Kong:D

It's easy guys. R1 draw R2 10-10 or 10-9 for Alistair R3 10-8 for Remy. Winner Remy. If the first round was Alistair's it should have been a draw, but it wasn't.
Remy was disappointing though. I didn't like Alistair's behaviour, but he was a good sportsman by going up to Remy and shake hands with him. Want to see Alistair against Schilt. He knows how to deal with him.
I am pretty sure Schilt is going to be champion again this year. He looked in great shape. Less fat percentage and Peter Aerts an Saki the same. Everyone prepared well!
I enjoyed Peter's fight very much and even enjoyed Sem's fight a lot. He was better than ever.
Madae is a very big surprise. The new heavy weight champ and Japanese hope. Won't last against the heavier guys tough. And Saki fought Spong 4 rounds, Madea fought just a little; less than 2 minutes. what an upset, but respect to the Japanese fighter.
Too bad my favourite Spong lost, but still performed well in his first big K1-bout. My other favourite Remy could have done better.
Respect for Hesdy Gerges. What a warrior. Took a lot of punishment and stood with Semmy for three rounds. Also respect for Saki . I would like to see him fight Madae if Saki is fit and fresh. Now he fought Spong for 4 rounds and that was heavy for him.
I enjoyed the tornament a lot. Tonight I 'll watch again on Dutch television with some friendsa and a couple of beers.

@detroitbushido

I said for me...
After the second round I thought "Remy what`s going on with you??!" and after the knockdown I was thinking: "Now this`s more like Remy..." I`m not very familiar with the kickboxing rules too but for me although Alistar was more active in the 1st and 2nd rounds he couldn`t make nothing significant, trowing Remy all the time down doesn`t mean he won the fight... But this is only my opinion :)
Fighting_GirL (33 posts)

@marcelt

I totally agree with you about the fight :)
Stagerlee (37 posts)
Posted: 2009-03-28 at: 01:27
I agree with marcelt that was a good tournament.
As a result that i really love fighters with good fight style (technique) and behaviour (Aerts, Hari, Remy, Saki, Le Banner, Spong, Zimmerman, Ksychenko, Souwer, Abraham, Holyfield.. etc). Massive and only strength does not mean anything to me. (Overeem, Menhoef, Schilt (im sorry)).
And Spong is a new blood for the class that i love. He is really a good fighter and person. Like Saki. Re-watch Spong's knockdown, Saki went beside him and give him a hug. This is what i wanna see and this is sport, this is show.

But this is not Bollywood:)

Thanks for your post btw.

Detroitbushido you looks very inrespectful. Bonjasky defeated Overeem. I think now it´s a tradition, when Bonjasky win a fight in decission, always is a robbed. Why dont you see again teh match and count the hits?? 200 punches of Overeem stopped in remy defense. 1st draw, 2 draw or maybe 10-9 for overeem, and 3rd 10-8. REMY WON THE FIGHT

It´s ok that you hate Bonjasky, but dont be disrespectful ("fuck remy" and that stuff). Maybe if you enter in the ring against this king kong of alistair, you let that he kick your ass and try to do the same tactic that him, no?. Remy is clever, and he has done the job that Badr couldnt, and knocked down Overeem with a fantastic combination.

Esto no es el circo romano, si quereis ver sangre y dolor ver peliculas gore, esto es k1 y el k1 es un deporte tecnico y duro.honor y respeto.

Good job, Nabil Kania.
Maeda's victory was unexpected to me, also in an impressive, authoritative way; I'm somehow disapointed and worried about Manhoef's performance, not his usual best for sure; Schilt seems to have applied a thoroughly renewed approach to the fightstyle he was known for (and sometimes also scorned for) and has undoubtedly won this fight; I didn't know a thing about Gerges but I've liked his courage and determination, always pushing his way forward under sometimes heavy fire; Gokhan's progression continues to go further with no visible stop; I've also had a real good time with Aerts. Now is the time to get a placid recapitulation of all that's happened, re-watching some of the fights and concentrate on the Swedish front

Guys, I wanna ask you something. After the Overeem vs Bonjasky match I thought I saw Badr Hari comming to the ring and congratulating Remy ?! (which seemed a bit awkward considering their well-known animosity), however the crowd around Remy prevented me from seeing it clearly, so I thought maybe some of you has seen it better...
