This Thursday European Fighting Network will give a press conference to announce the fight of the YEAR! I can tell you this; Badr Hari is going to fight, for the first time in four years in his hometown, and he wanted THE strongest opponent there is to prove he truly is  Number One!

I really don't know who his opponent will be but my guess is Semmy Schilt, but it could be a rematch against Remy Bonjaski...or maybe I'm totally wrong and it will be someone else....who do you think it will be?

I will attend the pressconference this thursday when they'll announce his opponent for the It's Showtime event 2009 I'll let you guys know as soon as possible!

;) Janine

If it really is Semmy who is the opponent, then WOW. Yes. That would truly be the fight of the year. And this fightcard is so good allready! Way to go.

My God! Sheer excitement over the promising news, thanks for the scoop. Semmy vs Hari would be a real masterpiece of showbusiness (as well as interesting for merely fighting purposes, of course).

Did K1 organize these fights? If that is the case, I dont think that they will let Schilt and Hari have a fight yet. It would ruin all expectations.
Personally I think Remy and Badr will fight. Who will win?

No it's not organized by K-1, so they might be interested in having the Hari-Schilt fight before K-1 organizes it.

Again, they wont let them fight together yet.
It has to be either Aerts or Bonjasky. I say 70 % Aerts 25% Bonjasky.
Here you go.
Please just listen to me hahah

Do you know who will be Badr Hari's opponent in Yokohama this March? I thought he was going to fight Semmy there?! Anyway, Aerts asked for a remach right after the WGP final, so it's quite possible that the two will meet in Amsterdam...What do you think, does he stand a chance against Hari?!

@ Nabil

That's interesting! Someone who things it will be Aerts! Could be...
Still I got my money on Schilt though...tomorrow we will know at 14.00 Amsterdam time (GTM +1)

As soon as Semmy/Peter/Remy(uhh slash Jimmy...right D-rop?) enters the room I'll make a post here with my phone!

Once again you'll be the first to know, I'll make sure of that! ;)

Who ever it ends up being... It´s gonna be a great fight!
If it´s Schilt, anything can happen in the ring. Schilt may knock Hari out with his powerful knees, but Hari may be too fast for Schilt to catch. However, should Hari try to win on points, he´s gonna need to get close with the big man. And we all know how his chin is.
Should it be Aerts, then I hope the Lumberjack has learned from his previous performance and he´ll try a different approach. It´s always interesting to see what Aerts is up to. He deserves another crack at this guy.
And of course if it´s Remy.... well, that would of course mean war. Only this time Hari has no choice but to play it clean. Another foul will cost him more dearly. And Hari won´t be pleased if Remy wins again, I can tell you that...

Can´t wait to find out!!!

I thnk K-1 will cease cooperation with It's Showtime. European Fighting Network is growing too large. And that's good. At least FEG has some competition to deal with. It should mean no more crappy events with washed out fighters.

@Chrzan: I've been thinking the same thing. If this leads to competition between the two organizations and K-1 snaps up, it is good. But I fear that it might lead to that K-1 falls more behind, and since It's showtime isn't worldwide and isn't a big tournament (from what I understand) this might become a bit dull in an international perspective.

Wow, so Schilt it is! Too bad it's in May. Now we have to wait. I sure hope Schilt will pick up the pace in the ring and show a lot more action this time. What do you all think will happen in this "fight of the year"?
Dennis, Administrator (1174 posts)

Schilt definately needs the win more than Hari. Hari can loose and still be one of the most interesting and up-comming fighters in K-1. But for Semmy this is his way back to K-1. If he wins K-1 will have an even harder time keeping him out of the tournament. I think Semmy will win.

I wasn't really intrested in another Aerts vs Hari and the big revange Hari vs Bonjasky is reserved for K-1. So I'm very glad this fight is to happen. Both have sth to prove. And as you said Semmy willl be/should be more motivated. So he is also my favourite here.

I hope Schilt shows no mercy this time, (sometimes I get the feeling he is afraid hurt/kill his opponents and he just do enough to win the fight). Badr on the other hand always give a 110%. I say Schilt by experience and size, but Badr always surprise me.

You're right Kim. I've always wondered what Schilt would have been like if he was this agressive-never-stopping-machine on a rampage, swinging hooks left and right and throwing his legs up like there's no tomorrow.
