Exclusive interview with Dzhabar Askerov

Interview for the K-1 event in Norrköping February 27, 2009.

(Gry) First, I want to thank you, Dzhabar, for taking the time to do this interview with me. Tell us a little about yourself. How are you as a person, both as a fighter and in private?

(Dzhabar) Im 22 years old. I was born in Russia, but since 2005 I represent U.A.E. Im always hungry for fights, so I fight as often as I can. I fight 5 times a month, so I take any fighter who comes to me.

As a fighter, I am fearless for all, but I always knew that people were afraid of me because of my appearance. And you know how it is. My life.. Hehe. In the ring everyone is my enemies, so I fight as it does on the street only until the end. In my normal life I think im a quiet guy, people say that I am very friendly. It is probably why I have so many friends.

(Q) How did your training history start?

(A) I start training when i was 6 years old. But began practise Muaythai when I was 8 years old. My father brought me to gym and i feel in love with Muaythai. So I stil doing it.

(Q) Compared with Swedish fighters you have been in many more matches. At what age did you start compete?

(A) I start compete when I was 8 years old after 2 weeks training. But first I was fighting  in boxing amateur tournaments.

(Q) Do you have any role model?

(A) If you ask me role model in figths, then I say myself. But if you ask me about person in life, its my father. A REAL MAN.

(Q) What has been your toughest fight so far?

(A) I do not really know which one of them, there are so many. But im happy with every  tough fight.

(Q) You participated in Contender Asia season 1. What is your best memory from there? Have your participation meant something positive in your career?

(A) Yes, it was a great time and I met many new friends. It was life experience. That was a really gret time and i miss it. I keep in touch with many people from there, like my best mate from Contender, Joakim Karlsson. It also made my name known and my career grew. Thanks to GOD.

(Q) You have been involved in several K-1 galas in Sweden and now you should get a re- match against Marcus Öberg. What is it that makes that you will beat him?

(A) I will win the fight and I know I should have been the winner in the last K-1 Max Scandinavia, So this time I´m going to show people who is number one. And I hope to go to Japan after the fight because it´s  my dream, and I need to make dreams comes true.

(Q) I understand that you are pretty much in sweden. What do you do when you are here and do you like Sweden?

(A) I love Sweden because I have so many friends there, as Joakim and his family and all guys from VBC. They are so friendly and takes care of me. Ooo, do not forget, GIRLS IS AWESOME in Sweden! They are so hot.. I hope to get a girlfriend from there, will look forward. Heheheh

(Q) Who is your dream opponent?

(A) My dream opponent its all fighters from K-1 Max Japan top 8 fighters. I want to challenge them and I am sure to win over them, I believe it. ALLAH is with me.

(Q) What are your future plans (dreams) as an fighter and also as an individual?

(A) As a fighter I want to be champion in K-1 Max and be WMC world chapion. That belts I have to hold and ill do all my best. DREAMS COMES TRUE! In my private life I want a big and happy family. What do you think of 4 wives and 12 kids? Hahahahaha.. Its big? Its not happy?

(Gry) Thank you for taking the time to do this and I wish you success in Norrköping. Me and your fans will continue to follow your career and wish you great success.

(Dzhabar) Thanks to you and see you soon. All the best

4 wives sure sounds like a lot of maintenance.... But he is a strong guy, perhaps he can handle it.

The best K-1 community online!

The focus is on building a community that offers more to the users than any other K-1 website. The focus is also on that the community should be totally user driven, with the users as main writers of content. Who would for example write a better fight report than a fan who actually was at the fight? Or who could write a more interesting fighter profile than the fan who loves and really knows about a fighter?
