Andrei wins the FansOfK1.com Team Competition 2008
This years FansOfK1.com Team competition did seem pretty predictable, with several members betting heavily on Schilt. Andrei though, took another road, and went from the bottom to the absolute top with Badr Hari.
When the team competition started Andrei was actually not even in it. But during the update articles he rose from the last position to 17th, 4th and 1st.
When we get a hold of Andrei, he's really happy to be the winner. He says "I didn't expect to win after Hari lost the final".
Andrei decided to bet heavily (9 000$) on Hari because "He is not simply a K-1 fighter, he is a real warrior. And I know he will be the 2009 WGP winner".
If Hari wins 2009, or even is allowed to compete, time will tell. Andreis tips for the 2009 competition though is to bet on the new generation, being led by Hari, Saki and Zimmerman. He continues "Yes, Peter Aerts, Ray Sefo and their likes are fine fighters, with great experience, but they are like 40 years old."

In second and third place CDn Mongoose and Jeroen finished. Both had invested pretty much in Hari, like Andrei. But their teams were more diversified, which didn't take them all the way. Anyhow, they'll win a FansOfK1.com t-shirt. |
