Unbelievable. Almost embarrassing for Kraus. Its obvious the judges or this organization have their own agenda...

Buakaw should have won the fight ...in my opinion..

but also he was backing down in the last round and this round is the Judge's Favorite round where most of the points are counted...

You make a good point there. The last round Buakaw was fighting more backwards. This of course shouldn't effect the judges, because he kept making his points. However this did make Kraus look like the more eager fighter in the last round. I'm afraid the judges based their decision to much on this fact, like you said.
Buakaw was the better fighter in this match. Using the (hard) lowkicks from the start and some nice fast paced midkicks. Kraus did a nice job trying to keep up with his fists, but you could clearly see the lowkicks doing their job, even at the end of the first round.
I guess the judges liked Kraus' agressive boxing skills, but remember not all of these hit target. Too bad for Buakaw, he should have been the winner in this fight. I don't understand if the judges really thought Kraus was this good, they should have given an extra round at the most, not the victory after three rounds.
Maybe Buakaw should file a complaint. Even if he can't change the outcome, it will have at least given a statement towards this very questionable judging.
No disrespect to Kraus, he did his best, it just wasn't good enough for a very sharp Buakaw.

I agree with Rob, Buakaw seemed much 'sharper' than usual. you can tell he's been working on his technique. less punching and more kicks, chin tucked in real deep. I guess these are the adjustments one makes when fighting against a 'boxer'. However, his sharpness and precision also led to him being able to pick his shots - less wasted effort, almost as though he was saving his energy for the next fight. Although Buakaw was much more precise, the already biased judges were able to use the lack of say 'aggressiveness' against him and turn the decision in favor or Kraus.

I have this hunch that the organization wants to phase out Buakaw and introduce Yod as he is much more sensational in that he is very aggressive only goes for knock out wins. This is much more appropriate for a blood thirsty audience. I mean, the organization just couldn't accept having 2 dominating Thais, so one has to go. Or am I absolutely off with this hunch? - maybe.

I see what you mean, but I don't think they see Buakaw was a non-entertaining fighter. That won't happen for a long time if you ask me. Besides these were (sorry to say) Dutch judges in a fight with a Dutch fighter in his homecountry.
But some indeed say Buakaw lost his real agressive fighting style. I say let him fight the way he thinks he needs to fight. Sure he's better than Kraus, but he can't joke around in the ring because of it. He stayed cool and executed his gameplan very well. Perhaps against minor opponents we can expect more fireworks and KO's, allthough I have to admit, watching him in this fight was a treat as well :D Man those sweeps were awesome ;)

You have to watch the whole event (posted here as well: http://www.fansofk1.com/article?aID=1680&Ca tegory=3 ) to know that the whole event was a complete scam. Has nothing to do with Buakaw, but they consequently favored their own fighters, the audience booed at every decision they made and the commentators came in more and more problems explaining the decision until they had to admit it "was a shame for such a big event".

its a shame that in the year 2008 we still cant get honest decisions in the fight sport. But i belive that for as long that there are humans that make the decisions there will always bee room to debate the results. But it must agree with you all here that BPP won that fight and that the whole event seems to have been some what corrupted.

I haven't seen the entire event, but if what you say is true, then I am truly disgusted by the judges ánd the organization of the event! I can't believe they actually think they can get away with something like this. Aren't they aware that people all over the world are watching as well??

Horrible decision. Buakaw needs to try to finish more so this does'nt happen to him. Kraus fought a good fight but Buakaw clearly demonstrated he's a higher level fighter. If Buakaw fought with the intensity Kraus did, he would have finished Kraus.

How can they just FU%* buakaw like that. Okay for you guys that don’t know muay thai scoring system punches are relatively low on the scoring system. Kicks score over punching period Kraus didn’t throw a single kick the entire fight. So the third round doesn’t really matter being buakaw wasn’t knocked out. He could have still lost the last round, 2 rounds over 1, who wins that fight? K-1 is racist in a since. They don’t wont the thais taking over which is bullsh&% . That’s why you’ll never see more then one Thai in K-1 at the same time. Or even full thai rules. What pisses me off is you take buakaw out of his element no elbows no clinch (since he dominates the clinch) then when you still cant win on a revised art of muay thai tailored to your predominate punching style (Kraus). You decide to fuck him out of the win. They keep this shi& up and not watching K-1 anymore. It was bad enough for what they did with Masato.
