Tyrone Spong on song in Eindhoven
‘It's Showtime' super card, Eindhoven- Netherlands 29-11-08

It was as good as it gets for Tyrone Spong who made an impressive specimen of an athlete in Zabit Samedov look very average with speed and power of the professional he is, drilling his Belarusian opponent who looked hurt and over whelmed in five rounds of kick fighting. Seemingly which was billed a match you couldn't miss ended up a miss match.

   Samedov vs. Spong

Risking near blindness at yesterday's press conference, all the staring in the world did not help Samedov as a clinical Spong went through him like a freight train and prolonged the agony for five rounds. This sent a clear and strong message that he was looking to step and fight real contenders on a global stage, further pushing for a highly anticipated bout with Australian super star Nathan ‘Carnage' Corbett.

Speaking to roguemag.com immediately after the fight, "You know it's been a while since I have fought five rounds and I am very happy at how it went. It was a good result and I trained very hard for this. After my accident I only had one fight and one round with Gary Turner, so getting five good rounds is excellent. I am happy with the result."

When questioned on the pre-fight stare down and how that affected his game he had this to say, "That's all fine with me if people want to stare me down but I fought using my head and won well. That's the result I was after and happy to get it..."

As far as future plans go he was confident, saying "See how it goes and wait for what comes next. Already K-1 has spoken to my management and it's looking good. Thanks for supporting me and I appreciate it, let's see how it goes and who knows what's next. Right now I want to enjoy this and get back to training as soon as I can" further added the Dutch star.

On the card was K-1 max heavy hitters Albert Kraus and Buakaw Por Pramuk. Hometown hero Kraus seemingly received a (very) charitable decision which surprised the local crowd, voicing their opinion with boos and shouts. Buakaw had seemingly regained some of his old Thai magic with repeated outside thigh and body kicks which made Kraus cringe and limp. Surprisingly the judges awarded the fight to him, denying Buakaw the win but on form and everything else he was looking ominously dangerous. Perhaps regaining the K-1 Max crown is not beyond him.

Faldir Chabari scored a unanimous point's win over aging Thai war horse Orono in a three rounder which looked convincing for the Dutchman and Joeri Mes KO'd Chris Ngimbi on a notable stoppage result.

I just watched the fight Kraus vs Buakaw .... and I have to say the decision to give the fight to Kraus was highly debatable (to say the least).

I haven't seen the fight yet, but I was afraid they would pull off something like this. Were they international judges or locals? Because with all due respect to my fellow countrymen, they do sometimes make very questionable decisions when it comes to a bout with a Dutch fighter versus an international contender. Just like the Japanese are known to do and like we see in Korea. I mean if even the Dutch crowd cries out boos, then maybe something went wrong... :S
But I hope to see the fight soon and judge by myself.

Who would for example write a better fight report than a fan who actually was at the fight? Or who could write a more interesting fighter profile than the fan who loves and really knows about a fighter?
